Take-Two CEO Asserts That Cloud Gaming is Merely a Distribution Channel


In a recent comment, Take-Two Interactive’s CEO underlines cloud gaming as a distribution model rather than a novel business method. Strauss Zelnick, who continues to support Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, firmly positions cloud gaming within the broader gaming market landscape.

A Fresh Take on Cloud-Gaming 

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, recently voiced his views on cloud gaming, asserting it as a distribution method rather than a new business model. 

“I think it’s important never to confuse a distribution technology with a business model,” Zelnick stated. Although he expressed hope that streaming their titles would significantly expand the market, he wasn’t entirely convinced of this belief.

Microsoft and Activision Blizzard: A Promising Union

Zelnick continues to express support for Microsoft’s move to acquire Activision Blizzard, considering the deal beneficial not only for Microsoft but also for the industry at large.

“What’s good for them is also good for the industry,” Zelnick commented, demonstrating his firm belief in cooperative industry success.
